This short study documents and disseminates 10 experiences, programs and projects for the production of habitat affordable in Africa, focusing in particular on their funding and their mounting.
In December 2020, the Centre for affordable housing funding in Africa (CAHF), urbaMonde and urbaSEN have signed a partnership agreement for the realization of a case study on the collaborative production of affordable housing in Senegal and its modeling, financial, and legal.
These structures work together :
- in support of solutions to affordable housing for vulnerable populations, through funding, accessible and innovative ;
 - through experimentation and the R&D in the field of financial innovation ;
 - through advocacy to influence the implementation of public policies and partnerships, strengthening access to finance affordable.
 - using a literature search and in-depth interviews, this work has allowed to analyze the capacity of the projects and partners to register in the chain of financing public and private, and to mobilize the finance so-called ” citizen ” or ” community “.

All the experiences learned have a point in common funding citizen or community to which add additional funding (both public and private, grants or loans, etc).
Many projects have been identified from the collaborative database CoHabitat.io hosted by urbaMonde in the framework of the Network CoHabitat, and from the experiences documented by the CAHF.
