Despite the political instability in the country, urbaMonde continues its activities in Burkina Faso, through a participatory project to improve the habitat of the informal settlements of Boassa.
In support of the local NGO, Yaam Solidarity, and in partnership with CRAterre , Grdr Senegal and UrbaSen, this project aims to achieve three objectives : the improvement of the habitat in the informal settlement of Boassa, the promotion of the construction land, and the relationship of the federations capita·es in West Africa.
Mission field in spite of a difficult political context
The field missions punctuate the work of our loaded·es of projects. These are moments of exchange with partners, which help reinforce each in its specialties, all while creating new synergies and potential of the project.
The meetings with the beneficiaries of the projects that we support are also moments that solidify our belief – if necessary – the power of values that convey our actions : dignity, empowerment, self-management, solidarity and resilience.
All of this was key to the mission of urbaMonde to Ouagadougou from 18 to 24 September last : field visits, discussions between partners and beneficiaries, strategic thinking and forward-looking.
The time also to review the results of three years of the project, which is funded by the Fondation Abbé Pierre and the French Agency for Development, and to define the directions of the phase 2.
The occasion of the rich exchanges and visits of the achievements on the field !
